Developing Research Methods

I have strengths in the design of methodologies for research and evaluation and the novel application of methods to a project or proposal. For example, recent work on the use of a story-based method (Most Significant Change) as a tool for engaging the public in research data (publication in process). I have experience of using frameworks to improve rigour and transparency in real-world, complex interventions, supporting clients with understanding best practice in research and evaluation. My interest in improving and refining methods extends to Patient and Public Involvement (PPIE), particularly exploring ‘taboo’ or sensitive topics, supporting people to share their experiences comfortably. I have an interest in methods for more meaningful engagement of patients and the public in research, particularly through arts-based and story-telling methods. Quality early involvement of patients and the public is something I aspire to do well.
